Rug wool 6ply undyed
Regular wool is light. It's made to be soft enough to wear, consisting of very fine fibres less than 21 microns thick. Rug yarn fibre is double that, around 40 or more microns. So the result is a tougher, denser yarn which is durable and importantly, gives weight and stability to carpets, rugs, tapestries etc.
If you've come across many vintage tapestries you'll be familiar with the texture as it was very common in 70s and 80s wall art. Those works were made to last!
Use in homewares like cushions, rugs, tapestries, latch hooking and so on. Dye it your own way and come up with something unique.
Strangely hard to come by, so I'm stoked to have this batch of 3 and 6 ply rug yarn finally available!
