String Harvest is one of Australia’s best known small and independent fibre arts supply retailers. An exciting new position is available for someone with initiative who can help support growth across our online, wholesale and retail.
We are looking for a trainee warehouse and studio assistant to see our business into to the next stage of growth. This is a casual/part time position of approximately 20 hours per week based at our studio/store in Southport Qld.
As a new position, the duties and responsibilities will grow rapidly over the next 3-12 months. Hours are flexible but will require a 10am - 5pm Mondays.

You will play an essential role in the bundling, packaging, packing and inventory management of our raffia and other products for retail and wholesale customers. You will also be involved in the day to day online order fulfilment and related customer service.
A solid interest in ecommerce and small business sustainability are a pre-requisite for the role. Attention to detail is essential. You will not be afraid of problem solving, pitching better ways to do things and taking responsibility for establishing processes as you develop them. You will need to be able to manage your time effectively to juggle the competing urgency of certain tasks, and be able to communicate this clearly and effectively with customers and staff.
This is a mostly active job - some days it will be exciting and creative, other days it will be laborious and repetitive but most days will see you more on your feet than sitting too long at a desk. There will be frequent lifting and moving around as well as sorting and packing away stock, loading and unloading cartons.
Qualifications - at least year 12. If not, we’ll need to see evidence of solid written English skills and confidence in numeracy.
Drivers license essential, own car to get to and from work and run occasional errands very highly desired.
Skills - Familiarly and confidence with Mac OS X and iOS essential. We are a microsoft and windows-free workplace. Experience and or genuine interest in working with photo editing and document design software (ie Adobe creative suite - we use affinity) will be highly regarded, as will any familiarity with Shopify, PayPal, Xero and email marketing clients like Mailchimp etc.
