Banana silk yarn 200g white
Banana silk yarn is made from the very long fibres of the banana leaf, producing a high sheen, soft and yet very strong silky fibre. Banana leaves must be harvested as part of the regular banana fruit production, making banana silk yarn a resourceful application of this byproduct.
This yarn is made in Nepal and is a fair trade product, spun and dyed by artisans, coming in a range of bright colours in addition to white.
The yarn is highly textured and unevenly spun, making it great for all kinds of loom weaving, but can also be knitted and crocheted.
200g yields approx 160-180m
