Fibre: 100% coconut fibre
Origin: Sri Lanka
Coconut coir can be used for basketry, macrame, gift wrapping and even in the garden.
It's fairly coarse in texture, wrangles in to shape and has great durability - great for outdoor use because it won't rot in the rain (although be mindful that prolonged exposure to wet conditions such as for kokedama may cause some colours to run or fade).
Our coconut coir range comes in a bright and simple colour-way; the cord is dyed by hand and there can be some variation between dye lots. If you have any questions or concerns about this get in touch and we'll be happy to assist.
Coconut coir is handmade in Sri Lanka under fair trade conditions by the Araliya Community Company. A percentage of all their profits are donated to the school for deaf children in Sri Lanka.
100% coconut husk (coir)
Please note: there is usually variance in the dye lots between 25m and 100m batches as shown in photographs. Dye lots may vary from those pictured however we aim to keep these up to date.
