Fair Trade Handspun Linen
This product is sold out
Please note - this recent batch of linen comes in ever so slightly varying shades, and each skein is different. We have priced the skeins to reflect this. If you require multiple skeins of matching colour please send an email or note with your order and we can contact you if there are any problems.
If you're a linen enthusiast, you may have seen our previous shipments of this beautiful fair trade linen from Nepal. The order is always the same, but the yarn is always different!
This latest batch is a little unexpected - normally we receive a linen which is thick enough to knit and crochet, but this time what we have is more of a linen thin enough for making woven textiles. If you're a spinner, this yarn might also be of interest as it is fine enough to ply either with any other fibre or spinning back on itself. A 2,3 or 4 ply of this yarn would be perfect for knitting and crocheting with.
This linen is grown, harvested and spun in Nepal by community artisans. Alongside hemp and nettle, raw linen is sold through local rural cooperatives at fair trade prices and produced using natural methods and no chemical processing.
