A recycled cotton yarn that is soft enough to weave or knit to wear? Yes!
Sourced by Mondo Fil, 'Re-specked' is a light 2ply (with a 4ply-ish, sporty weight feel) yarn suited to knitting and weaving. A special scarf, woven sleeve top, an heirloom tapestry. This is a cotton yarn exuding a soft and delicate feel.
The cotton fibres are reclaimed from the industrial combing process and re-spun to create this fluffy to touch yarn. Dyed in a specific process called speck dyeing; a process of steaming capsule-like pigment onto the fibre lends the yarn a rich, vintage-like shades.
