In Nepal, India and Bangladesh the bast fibres of linen, hemp, bamboo, cotton and wild nettle are handspun, traditionally for local craftspeople to use in textiles. The crops are tended to, their fibres harvested and spun by community artisans.
The yarns are sold through local rural cooperatives at fair trade prices and produced using natural methods and no chemical processing.
Please note - there is variation within some of these skeins, balls and hanks as they are a natural, handspun product.
